Our Chairman and founder. He is an experienced entrepreneur, software developer, project manager and financial manager; built on the foundation of electronic engineering and MBA degrees. His experience comes from moving through the ranks of hardware engineering, software development and onto the project management of large military projects. He is a family and Church man. Gary enjoys starting new things and has a passion for helping the plight of rural South Africa. He currently heads up Sales, Marketing and Finance.
Maverick – love to start new things – born “programmer” – give me a problem to solve – that’s what fires me up – and I am good at it. I am in absolute surrender to Jesus Christ – church, outreach, family man. Started Dac Systems 1995 – software solutions company – South African and proud of it – BEE through the Nkomazi Trust which support orphans just south of the Kruger Park - trustee and co-conspirator of the trust concept. I come alive helping the community – Dac builds a house each year as a “span bou” – through BBC (my church) look after people in Nkomazi area and homeless living in our local river. Started our Microsoft AX initiative – five implementation under our belt – and just picked up the Government Printing Works – Amen. Also have just landed the SharePoint implementation for Department of Education. Staying up to date – Electrical Engineer and MBA – certified in AX in the Finance, Projects and Trade and Logistics discipline. Now Marketing, Selling, Designing “cool” systems for wonderful Clients.
Our Technical Director, provides us with a solid technical foundation, be it computer hardware configurations, server installations and administration, or software development methods and techniques. Gary, who is a highly talented code practitioner, provides us with technical vision and ensures that we are always at the leading edge of the software development world. Gary was instrumental in designing and architecting the nationwide infrastructure and environment for the NPA. Gary has also been involved in the architecture and design of every technology project tackled by Dac Systems.
A team builder and leader with excellent inter-personal skills at all organizational levels. His skills grew out of the software development arena where he focused on Logistics and Materials Management. This being his strong point, he has now not only got five SAP Projects under his belt, but has also become a Certified Axapta Trade & Logistics consultant. His strong points include Problem Resolution, Troubleshooting and being a Lateral Thinker. This led to him spending time in the Quality Assurance and Testing arena, and he has developed extremely robust skills and product knowledge in these arenas. He puts this knowledge to good use in ensuring that Dac Systems not only meets but exceeds our quality standards. Expanding his broad expertise, he recently qualified as a Certified Document Imaging Architect in electronic document and records management and have implemented three of the largest EDRMS solutions on the market today.
Our Strategy Director, who has extensive functional, software systems and architecture experience gained, in more than 40 working years in military Intelligence, Command and Control and Justice domains, provides the guidance for strategic direction of our Company. His “wiring” means that strategic and analytical thinking come naturally to him. His other strengths include “activator”, “achiever” and “responsibility” – activator means he loves to start up new things and get them up and running but hates maintaining what is already going, but his responsibility means that he cannot just drop things and achiever means that he insists on doing things well. He has a natural hunger for knowledge and so reads widely on subjects ranging across the spectrum of science, technology, philosophy, theology, ornithology, and a whole bunch of other “ologies”. He is a good relator and communicator (= makes friends easily and can talk all day long about almost anything and everything) and so has ended up coaching, teaching, training and presenting quite extensively and on a wide variety of subjects and topics. Here his great passion for Jesus and the Word of God comes to the fore and he has helped develop and has headed up three, part-time Bible schools (3-year course). He is a husband (1 wife for 40years plus), father (of two) and grandfather (of 6).
